General Information
Payment/confirmation of payment
Within 14 days of registration (online or written) you will receive a confirmation about your registration by e-mail or mail. This confirmation is also valid as invoice for submission at the tax and revenue office. All fees are due after receipt of your invoice/confirmation form. Transfer payments must include the name of the participant and the invoice number otherwise they will not be accepted. Payments are also accepted by all major credit cards.
Education credits and certification
The conference is granted with 6 CME credits of category B for each day by the Medical Chamber of Baden-Württemberg.
Attendance list for CME credits
Please remember to sign up daily on the attendance lists which are displayed at the check-in (if necessary with bar code). Credits are issued on a daily basis.
Certification of attendance
Certificates of attendance for the registered participants will be submitted on the check-in.
Name tag
Participants and registered accompanying guests will receive a name badge with their registration. Access to the meeting and exhibition area is only allowed with a valid badge. Badges must be worn visibly throughout the congress and at the social activities.
Exhibitors’ badges will be provided for the staff of the exhibition booths.
Evaluation
We appreciate your active participation by giving your feedback in our evaluation. With your feedback you help us to continue providing highest quality at conferences. Please hand in your completed evaluation at the check-in on your last congress day.
Check-in
The check-in is located at the first floor near the entrance.
Cloakroom
The cloakroom is located also at the first floor. You can hand in your wardrobe free of charge.
Media check-in
Please find the speakers check-in at the middle floor in room 206.
Internet
Internet with free access is provided to all participants from September 12–16, 2010 via wireless lan. Participants will be able to access internet with their own notebooks. The access code will be available at the check-in.
Language
The official meeting language is English. English is spoken in most of the hotels, restaurants and touristic areas.
Abstract book
The abstracts of the 14th International Conference on Intracranial Pressure and Brain Monitoring are published in the abstract book which is part of the conference program and free of charge for every participant.
Catering
Coffee, tea and water during coffee breaks as well as the lunch during the lunch breaks is available free of charge for the registered participants.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside the congress venue or at other venues for the social functions. Smokers are required to smoke outdoors and in the designated smoking areas.
Restrooms
Please follow the signage or ask at the check-in.
Service for handicapped persons
The rooms are accessibly designed for handicapped persons.
Signage and finding your way
The building(s) where congress sessions take place will be clearly indicated by signs between and around the buildings. For an easier finding, session rooms will be named and printed in the final program. Please consult the schedule to find the name of the session room.

VAT/Tax Regulations
Value-added tax runs at 19%. In Germany a reduced rate of 7% is applied to mainly food and agricultural products. All prices for goods and services in restaurants etc. include tax. At national and international airports visitors receive round about 19% VAT refunds for purchases at Duty Free shops.
Tipping
Service charges are included in your bill for rooms, meals and other services at hotels and upscale restaurants. Germans occasionally do tip when they are especially pleased with the service they receive.
Climate
Tübingen's climate is usually mild during the summer months. In September, the temperature is between 20°C (68°F) and 25°C (77°F) during the day. However it could be possible that it will rain. Fluctuation between day and night temperature is about 10°C (50°F).
Visa Requirements
EU nationals do not require a visa when entering the Federal Republic of Germany. Generally speaking, all other foreigners require a visa for stays in Germany. A visa is not required for semi-annual visits of up to three months for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement. The fee for a Schengen visa (a policy referring to the temporary entry of persons) valid for travel to 15 different european countries, staying up to 90 days, costs about 60 Euro.
